The ICICI Bank DriveTrack Card โ€” launched in partnership with Hindustan Petroleum โ€” was a co-branded fleet loyalty card designed for commercial vehicle operators, transporters, and fleet owners. It allowed cashless fuel purchases at HPCL outlets across India, with built-in fuel tracking, reward points, and surcharge waivers. Enrolling fleet customers into this program required exceptional trust, communication, and service โ€” qualities that Five Star Agencies had in abundance.

In both 2004 and 2005, Five Star Agencies sold more DriveTrack cards than any other petrol pump dealer in the entire country. Out of thousands of HPCL outlets across India, this station in SIPCOT Krishnagiri topped them all โ€” two years in a row. The achievement was so remarkable that the Chief of ICICI Bank personally came to inspect the outlet.

Chapter 01
The Only Son โ€” Born After Sixteen Years of Prayer

Mr. Jameel Ahamed did not enter this world with privilege or advantage. He was born the only child of his parents โ€” who had waited sixteen long years for him. There were no siblings to share the burden, no elders with business knowledge to guide him, and no family history of entrepreneurship to draw from whatsoever.

His was a modest, humble background. Food was not always guaranteed. Money was scarce. Yet what was never in short supply โ€” and what would carry him through everything โ€” was unwavering faith in Allah and an extraordinary inner fire.

Grade Eight โ€” Alone on a Truck to Nagpur

When most boys his age were thinking only of school and play, he โ€” still in the eighth grade โ€” made a decision that would define the rest of his life. He chose to learn business by doing it, no matter the cost or difficulty.

With no phone to call home, no contacts at the destination, and no family member by his side, he boarded a truck and journeyed alone all the way to Nagpur. The trip took five days each way. He slept on the road. He managed on whatever little he could find. There were no phones in those days โ€” he could not reach his mother, could not call his father. He was entirely on his own.

"A young boy, alone, on a truck for five days โ€” no phone, no contacts, no family. Not running away from something. Running towards something. That was his character from day one."

These were not reckless journeys โ€” they were deliberate ones. Each trip was a classroom. He learned how trade worked, how to negotiate, how to read people, how to manage money with care and discipline. He returned home not just with goods or income โ€” but with knowledge and wisdom that no school could teach. He made these journeys multiple times, as a child, entirely alone. This was how he was made.

Studies, Sacrifice & the Summer of 1990

He never abandoned his education. Even through all the travelling and trading, he continued his studies with the same iron discipline he applied to everything else in his life. He refused to choose one over the other โ€” he chose both, and he gave his all to both.

In 1990, during his summer holidays, he returned to Nagpur โ€” older now, wiser, and far more purposeful than before. He deepened his understanding of commerce, supply chains, and the ethics of honest business. Every free hour, every holiday, every waking moment was invested into building towards his dream.
